I really like product launches and I always get inspired when looking at all sorts of product launches to derive experiences for the products I am currently working on. I actually think competitor research and staying up to date with the newest developments or trends in the product space is an important aspect in the work of a product manager.

Recently, I started to do this in a more structured way and created some lists with the product launches that were particularly inspiring for me for various reasons. I think the ideas and comments about the launches I describe can also be inspiring for everyone else and thus I might just share this list and maybe even create some discussions around it.

Have a look at the June 2021 Edition, too!

My Airtable list for products launched in July 2021

The products here are in no particular order. However, if you are interested in the categorised Airtable list that can be sorted and copied, I am happy to share this with you. However, as I am building an audience it would be great if you could also follow me on LinkedIn and Medium in order to support me in exchange ;-).

1. Y Combinator Co-founder Matching

YC’s free online platform to help you find your co-founder.

This is of course a great idea that was executed a few times before. I think since it is coming from YC it makes sure that the founders signing up already have a similar mindset and understanding because they consume YC content.

2. Typedream

No-code site builder, easy as Notion, pretty as Webflow.

I was really interested in Typedream. The pages looked really good and it is extremely simple to build the pages. Maybe a challenging competitor for brizy and carrd in the super simple landing page space.

3. Learners

Learn fast with peer to peer community mentoring.

I really think peer2peer mentoring will be the best and fastest way of learning especially in the beginning of your professional life. Definitely worth to have a look at Learners. You have to sign up first, thou.

4. Startup Concepts

Startup concepts in a comic book format. Understand complex startup concepts through simple explanations.

Absolutely great idea to explain concepts in the startup world in a very illustrative way. It is so easy to generate nice content and bring value to the community in this way.

5. Phonic

Phonic scales voice and video feedback, so you never have to trade off quality for quantity.

One of the biggest challenge in early stage is to get a lot of feedback in a sustainable way. Phonic tries to solve this by making sure it is way more convenient for the user giving feedback. Really great idea.

6. Opens Are Dead

The iOS 15 Updated brings fundamental change to email marketing by Killing the open rate metric. 20-year-old practices need to be unlearned. To help email marketers adapt, Omnisend introduced Opens Are Dead — a knowledge hub to navigate the transition.

The Apple privacy updates challenge all marketers. Especially the open rate is suffering a lot by that. Excellent idea to create content around that. Worth having a look for everybody directly affected by that problem.

7. Illustration Plugin for Figma

Free Popular Illustration libraries for everyone, plugin allows you to insert high-quality free illustrations right into Figma. Just drag and drop to add it on Figma.

You can never have enough Figma illustration at hand. Nice contribution.

8. OneSchema

OneSchema is a super simple spreadsheet UI for detecting and correcting errors in CSV data. You can use it when you repeatedly need to upload data to a system with a known schema (like setting up new customers in a SaaS product, uploading a catalog monthly).

Uploading user lists into outreach and CRM tools can take a lot of time during your day so this is a very interesting pain point. I think the solution provided helps a lot to avoid doing mistakes and speeds up the process.

9. 100+ Invoice Templates

Send and Receive Industry Standard Invoices Easily and Elegantly I am mentioning this because.

I was looking for nice invoice template for such a long time once. This helps certainly.

10. Product Benchmarks

Product-led growth is the top trend of 2021, but there’s still a whole lot of product imposters out there. Are you one of them? In this guide, OpenView, Pendo, and Product Collective all team up to help you figure this out (and what to do if you are).

Nice collection of metrics to get an idea of product metrics and where you are currently at with your product. All this in a nice format. Definitely helpful in everyday work as a product manager.

11. Startup Pitch Deck

The Startup Pitch Deck Template is ideal for everyone, from entrepreneurs to product managers to startup founders. It makes the basics of pitch deck design easy and painless. This template features 68+ predesigned slides that will take your pitch to the next level.

Where should you start creating your pitch deck? It is always a matter of convenience and beauty I think. This product definitely helps to make things easier when you decided to do it in Figma directly.

12. Foreword

Foreword is a marketplace for live, online workshops. Learn actionable skills that’ll help you thrive at startups with topics like: becoming a manager, working remotely, communicating effectively, and more.

Great product and a big help in learning additional skills especially in professional life.

13. interestinsights v2

interestinsights will find you thousands of Facebook™ interests that you can target in your campaigns and reduce costs to reach a more relevant audience.
Saves you 5+ hours per week as a Facebook advertiser.

This is amazing and such a great idea to match interests better in Facebook. All marketers and people starting advertising should have a look at this tool.

14. Indie Thinkers

Indie Thinkers is a new database to help you discover the best writing on the internet. The goal is to provide a resource for the discovery of great writing and also a much-needed distribution channel for writers. Visit indiethinkers.com to submit today!

A nice platform for writers in a nice UI.

15. How to Do LinkedIn Outreach in 2021

Outbound lead generation is changing, and trends that emerged last year allow us to make predictions. We are eager to share our best practices and strategies that work in 2021 so that you can start using LinkedIn for successful sales prospecting.

Always good to stay up to date around LinkedIn Outreach. May it be for recruiting, classic cold outreach or all sorts of networking. Everyone should have a slight idea about this topic.

16. No Code Hunt

Find the next best thing being built with no code. Find inspo, new products and give feedback to creators.

Nice additional platform for no code products.

17. Detail

Detail is a virtual camera that you can use in Zoom, Loom, Twitch, Whereby, or your favourite streaming software. Use your iPhone or iPad as your camera, switch between cameras, pick your favourite filter and record high quality video while streaming live.

Detail Screenshot

I was so excited about this. I think the messaging is so true. Our phones are so good and we should use them instead of the horrible webcams attached to our computers. Detail is free and so easy to setup. Really great idea.

18. Sofa 3.0

Most of the apps we use today are designed for work. Sofa is one of the few productivity apps intentionally intended for play. Create lists of apps, books, board games, movies, tv shows, podcasts, music albums, and video games to enjoy later.

It is really nice to be able to have a look at what you did over the whole year and get some automated analysis similar to Spotify Wrapped. For social cataloging like this it takes some discipline but it is really nice to see how many series you watched and so on during the year. Also nice design by Sofa.

19. Beseda

Instead of meetings, use Beseda to send videos and audios — both transcribed — and have more time for focused work without distractions. Standups, design reviews, reporting bugs, collecting and giving feedback — the sky’s the limit for the ways to apply.

I was talking about this many times. For me it would work really well if there would be an app where we send each other voice mails and then answer once we have time. If transcription would work very well this would be a very cool thing!

20. Viewst

Workspace One workspace that allows you to create, collaborate and launch ads at scale. Viewst allows design and marketing teams to multiply creative volume and variety, go to market faster and out-market competition.

Nice way to scale ads and work more focused on your ads.

21. Best Digital Ads of 2020

The Best Digital Marketing of 2020 features the best brand campaigns from the last year. Always nice to have inspiration for your social ads.

Nice summary.

I hope you enjoyed this compilation. If you are interested in receiving my Airtable list containing all those products with preview, additional comments and sortable categories just follow me on LinkedIn and Medium.
